In the “Awaza” National Tourist Zone, started an event of international significance — the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countriesstarted .
The main goal of the conference is to support the socio-economic development of landlocked developing countries and to ensure their full integration into the global trading system.
As a country with a strategically important position in the international arena, Turkmenistan initiated the hosting of this conference.
As part of the Awaza Forum, several important plenary sessions, round tables, and forums are planned on key topics, including:
- Modernization of transport and logistics infrastructure,
- Reduction of customs barriers along trade routes,
- Increasing access to financial resources and investments,
- Strengthening the legal foundation of regional cooperation,
- Enhancing collaboration to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This international conference held in Awaza demonstrates Turkmenistan’s growing role on the global stage. The opportunities that Turkmenistan creates for landlocked developing countries are regarded as a model of international cooperation.
