SEPTEMBER 21 — INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

Every year on September 21, the global community celebrates the International day of Peace. In 2001 the General Assembly of the United Nations at 55th session decided to annually observe the the International day of Peace. The date reminds us of the importance of unity, mutual understanding, respect and friendly relations between countries and people.

Every year in September 21 the UN organizes various events: tree seedlings are planted, sports competitions are organized and drawing contests are held in educational institutions. The main goal of this international day is to promote the principles of peace and trust among people.

Since 2007 the International day of Peace has been held annually under a specific theme and is mainly dedicated to topics, such as security, peace, sustainable development, youth, education and human rights.

Under the wise leadership of our Arkadagly Hero Serdar, our Fatherland, supporting good-neighborly relations, puts forward important initiatives to ensure peace throughout the world. Peaceful foreign policy of Turkmenistan also enjoys great support from the international community. The adoption of the Resolution "2025 — International Year of Peace and Trust", initiated by Turkmenistan, at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly once again proved that our country remains a center of reconciliation throughout the world.

May peace and trust prevail across all nations!
