THE IMPORTANCE OF COOPERATION BETWEEN TURKMENISTAN AND UNESCO IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION

In the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state, Turkmenistan is carrying out large-scale transformations aimed at developing the education system, providing the younger generation with knowledge that meets international standards, and creating conditions for the training of highly qualified specialists. Based on the state programs initiated by our Esteemed President, international cooperation in the field of education is steadily expanding, which contributes to the professional growth of young people and helps them gain experience in accordance with modern global requirements. In this regard, one of Turkmenistan’s key partners on the world stage is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization — UNESCO.

Cooperation with UNESCO brings new content, new opportunities, and new approaches to Turkmenistan’s education system. This partnership is not only a symbol of international engagement but also serves to enable the young generation to become familiar with global educational and pedagogical practices, while allowing teachers to improve their professional qualifications, thereby enhancing the overall quality of education in the country.

Through various projects and programs implemented within the framework of UNESCO, Turkmenistan’s educators study advanced international practices, master modern teaching methods, and introduce innovative approaches to developing students’ creative abilities. At the same time, this cooperation opens up opportunities for young people to participate in international events, competitions, conferences, as well as creative and scientific projects.

The inclusion of several Turkmen secondary schools in the network of UNESCO Associated Schools stands as clear evidence of the growing international prestige of Turkmenistan’s education system, as well as the recognition of the creative and innovative ideas of Turkmen teachers and students at the global level. Moreover, the membership of the Youth organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly in the UNESCO World Youth Community has given a powerful boost to the active participation of Turkmen youth on international platforms, while also expanding cultural and scientific ties. Within this cooperation, numerous events are regularly organized to promote the principles of peace, friendship, intercultural dialogue, and sustainable development among young people.

One of the key directions of UNESCO’s educational programs is the concept of education for sustainable development, which has been successfully introduced in Turkmenistan. With the participation of teachers and students, various lessons, seminars, and projects are carried out on topics related to ecology, scientific innovation, digital education, and social development. These initiatives inspire young people to contribute to society, generate new ideas, and participate actively in the country’s progress.

Another important area of cooperation with UNESCO is the development of digital education. In Turkmen schools, interactive whiteboards, online classes, electronic textbooks, and digital platforms are widely used. These innovations contribute to improving the accessibility and quality of education, ensuring equal opportunities for all students to benefit from digital technologies.

We express our deep gratitude to our Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their tremendous contribution to the development of the country and for creating new opportunities on the path of progress and prosperity.
