Eight boxers will represent Turkmenistan at the 3rd Commonwealth of Independent States Games, which kicked off in Azerbaijan among athletes under 23 from 13 countries.
The CIS Games are being held in eight cities across Azerbaijan, with boxing competitions taking place at the Yevlakh Olympic Centre.
The leadership of the Turkmenistan Boxing Federation organized its own national junior championship this year, and the boxers have been intensively preparing for the CIS Games.

National junior champion Muhammetemin Begenjov is a technical boxer from the Turkmen capital, competing in the lightweight (60 kg) division, but the Commonwealth of Independent States Games will be his international debut.
Abdyrahman Babayev from Ashgabat won a silver medal at the 2024 Turkmenistan Junior Championships, which he converted into gold this year in the junior welterweight (63 kg).
Selim Meredov (46 kg) from Ashgabat is an athlete born in 2010. Dayanch Orayev (up to 50 kg) and Imamjan Arslanov (up to 54 kg) also joined the team.
The winners of the boxing tournament at the 3rd CIS Games will be determined on the 5th of October.
