CULTURAL HERITAGE IS THE SPIRITUAL TREASURE OF THE PEOPLE

The unique culture, traditions and historical path of each nation are reflected in its cultural heritage. Cultural heritage is not only ancient monuments, but also the values, customs, art, folklore and spiritual heritage that have been preserved in the minds of the people. It is one of the most important pillars that show what the past of the people was like, as well as where its future is headed.

The cultural heritage of the Turkmen people originates from the depths of millennia. Historical cities such as Ancient Nisa, Merv, Koneurgench, Dehistan form the glorious pages of our country's culture. Archaeological findings, architectural monuments, inscriptions and art samples discovered in these places confirm that the Turkmen people have passed through a great path of cultural development.

The folklore of the Turkmen people — the art of bakhshi, music, dance, carpet weaving, weaving and other crafts — is inextricably linked with the spiritual world of our people. These arts not only decorate life, but also maintain a spiritual connection between generations. Therefore, cultural heritage is a spiritual bridge connecting the past and the future of the people.

Extensive work is being done to protect and promote cultural heritage in the world. In Turkmenistan, much attention is paid to the work of museums, research institutes, and cultural centers. Also, a number of our national values are included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This is a clear indication of the recognition of Turkmen culture at the world level. Protecting cultural heritage is not only preserving historical monuments, but also instilling respect for the past in the younger generation, educating a sense of patriotism, studying and developing our cultural values. This task is a sacred duty for every citizen.

Cultural heritage is the source of the spiritual wealth of the people. Its preservation and development are a tribute to our past and confidence in our future. The cultural heritage of the Turkmen people is not only our national treasure, but also a valuable contribution to the spiritual wealth of all humanity.
