"ALTYN ASYR" RETURNED TO THIRD PLACE IN THE TURKMENISTAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The football players of "Altyn Asyr" successfully started the third round-robin stage of the Turkmenistan championship among the clubs of the highest league by winning the final match of the 15th round in the capital derby against Ashgabat with a score of 2:1.

The game took place at the stadium in the Buzmeyin etrap of the capital.

The home team took the initiative from the first minutes and scored early, in the 4th minute, by Abdyrahman Annamyradov. In the 47th minute, Suleyman Mukhadov doubled the result, scoring his fourth goal of the season.

In the 53rd minute, Begmyrat Bayov, who transferred from "Ahal" to "Ashgabat" before the third round-robin stage, scored a consolation goal, but the guests could not achieve more.

After this victory, "Altyn Asyr", with 28 points, returned to third position in the national championship. The same number of points is held by the Turkmenbashi team "Shagadam", but it occupies fourth place based on additional criteria. "Ashgabat", with 11 points, stayed in sixth place.

Recall that the leader of the championship, with 48 points, is "Arkadag", which leads by 17 points over the second-placed "Ahal". In the top scorers' race, the first place with 15 goals (1 penalty) is held by "Arkadag's" forward Didar Durdyyev. Next are his teammates: Altymyrat Annadurdyev with 13 goals (1 penalty) and Begench Akmamedov with 12 goals (1 penalty). 

The next matches of the Turkmenistan Football Championship among the clubs of the highest league will take place on August 11. On that day, in the rescheduled 21st round, the following matches will be played: "Kopetdag" vs. "Shagadam", "Merv" vs. "Altyn Asyr", and "Nebitchi" vs. "Arkadag". Another game of this round, "Ashgabat" vs. "Ahal", has been postponed to a reserve day due to the participation of the vice-champion of Turkmenistan in the qualifying match of the AFC Champions League-2 against the Tajik club "Regar-TadAZ", which will take place on August 13 at the TALCO Arena in Tursunzade, Tajikistan.
