TURKMENISTAN EXPANDS EXPORTS: ICE CREAM HITS UAE MARKET

As part of its national strategy to promote non-resource-based exports, Turkmenistan has launched the supply of locally produced ice cream to the United Arab Emirates. The first shipment has reached major retail chains in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where the product is now available to consumers.

The ice cream is manufactured at facilities in Ashgabat and Mary velayat using only natural ingredients — including fresh cow's milk, cream, cane sugar, domestically produced honey, and fruit-based flavorings.

To meet the regulatory requirements of the UAE, the exporting company Ak Gar obtained both a Halal compliance certificate and a sanitary license from the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA).

According to the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, the UAE market serves as a gateway to the wider Middle East region. In the near future, the country aims to expand its export geography to include Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.
