Two matches of the 20th round took place in the Turkmenistan Football Championship among top league clubs. The focus was on the game at the stadium in the Buzmeyin etrap of Ashgabat, where the debutant of the AFC Challenge League 2025/26 "Altyn Asyr" hosted "Shagadam" from the city of Turkmenbashi.
Both teams are competing this season for a place in the top three. Earlier this season, they already met twice. In the first round-robin stage at the "Altyn Asyr" field, the opponents drew 1:1, while in the second round-robin stage "Shagadam" won at home 2:1.
In the third match, Yazguly Hojageldiyev’s team again failed to earn points, playing a goalless draw against Ali Gurbani’s team – 0:0.
Another match, in which Ashgabat's "Kopetdag" hosted Balkanabat's "Nebitchi," turned out to be quite high-scoring. During the match, the Ministry of Internal Affairs' team led 2:0 and 3:2. However, they could not hold on to the victory. Seven minutes before the end of regular time, the guests scored another goal, ending the match in a 3:3 draw. Dayanch Meredov scored a hat-trick for "Kopetdag," netting goals in the 14th, 25th, and 68th minutes. For "Nebitchi," Serdar Gulyev marked a brace (30th and 43rd minutes), and Arslangylych Nazgylyjov scored another goal in the 83rd minute.
Earlier in this championship, these teams also met twice. In the first round-robin stage at "Kopetdag’s" field, the opponents failed to score against each other – 0:0, while in the second round-robin stage "Nebitchi" won at home with a minimal score of 1:0.
