In an era of rapid technological change, the digital revolution is attracting the attention of the scientific community. Unlike the industrial revolution, the digital revolution is not just the introduction of new technical solutions, but a transformation process that fundamentally changes the socio-economic, cultural and institutional structures of modern society, creating new norms, values and models of life. The digital revolution traces its origins back to the middle of the XX century, when microelectronics developed and the Internet was born. Currently, we are witnessing the “second digital wave” associated with the development of artificial intelligence, Big Data, blockchain technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning and automation.
The digital revolution is simultaneously affecting all aspects of life. Digitalization is contributing to the transition to a digital economy model. New types of work are emerging, such as remote work, new digital markets and virtual currencies. Digital innovations such as bank cards, contactless payments, transfers by phone number have now become a normal part of life.
Digital technologies have facilitated the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases in medicine. Advanced areas such as bioinformatics and the use of artificial intelligence for medical image analysis, predictive analytics, contribute to improving the accessibility and quality of medical care.
Digital technologies have turned the telephone into not only a means of communication, but also the control center of our lives. If earlier phones were used only for making calls, now we use them to pay for purchases, order a taxi, watch movies, listen to music, get the news and check bus schedules.
The digital revolution is our future and the present we live in. The digital revolution has shown that you can do more with less effort, and use digital services regardless of where you live, that is, it has provided time savings, accessibility and flexibility. Our lives have become easier owing to the digital revolution. The main thing is to be able to use technologies wisely and usefully.
