On 12 December 1995, with the unanimous support of 185 states, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Resolution “Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan”. Our country, committed to the policy of Neutrality at every step and in every initiative, guided by humanistic principles, has established mutually beneficial, friendly and fraternal relations with the countries of the world. In close cooperation with international organizations, it has worked hard to successfully implement initiatives for the benefit of the region and the peoples of the world.
In the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state, in 2025 — the International year of Peace and Trust, at the 61st plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted the Resolution "Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan". With this decision, the organisation recognised our status of Neutrality for the third time. This is a guarantee that the country, which has passed a glorious way during 30 years of Neutrality, will continue its efforts to ensure unity and peace in the world, strengthen security, stability, solve economic and environmental problems.
On the eve of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of our permanent Neutrality, the memorable and significant events doubles the pride in the great turkmen people.
