The Avaza National Tourist Zone, adorning the Turkmen coast of the ancient Caspian Sea, is increasingly attracting the attention of the international community.
In the first decade of August, the eyes of much of the global community were on our country's Avaza National Tourist Zone. From August 4 to 8, during the International Year of Peace and Trust, the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries was held here.
This major international forum and the related events organized within its framework were attended by the heads of state and high-ranking representatives of 32 landlocked developing countries, high-level delegations from 47 small island states, 49 least developed countries, the UN Secretary-General and his deputies, as well as leaders and representatives of a number of international and regional organizations, financial institutions, public associations, and the private sector.
The fact that this once-a-decade forum coincided with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the United Nations gave it special political significance. The International Year of Peace and Trust, declared by Turkmenistan for the entire world and our country, entered history as a major event. The forum in Avaza created favorable conditions for expanding opportunities for the participating countries, exploring solutions, and fostering cooperation.
We wish our Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, who create broad opportunities for our youth, many years of life and well-being.
