Speaking at the conferences “Türkmentel – 2025” and “International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2025,” Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan M. Chakyev spoke about the ongoing initiatives aimed at bringing the country into the ranks of the world’s leading digital states and achieving a new level of development.
“At present, large-scale programs are being successfully implemented to modernize the national economy, create modern transport infrastructure, develop the digital economy, introduce the ‘Electronic Government’ system, and expand the capabilities of artificial intelligence and cloud technologies. In this regard, special attention is paid to the training of highly qualified specialists and the expansion of information and communication infrastructure,” said M. Chakyev.
In this context, M. Chakyev cited as an example Arkadag, the first “smart” city in the country, where, on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, advanced digital, information and communication, and “green” technologies have been widely introduced, including the integration of 5G standards into the communication system. This marked a new stage in Turkmenistan’s digital development.
Speaking about logistical advantages, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized Turkmenistan’s favorable geo-economic position, which opens up great prospects for the full utilization of its international transit potential.
In this regard, he noted the establishment of new transport and transit corridors along the East–West and North–South routes, which provide broad opportunities for the growth of mutually beneficial trade and economic relations across the Eurasian space.
“This is closely linked to the ‘open-door’ policy successfully pursued by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as the political, economic, and legal conditions created on the basis of equal and mutually beneficial interstate relations. In this connection, the Turkmen side is ready to discuss proposals for mutually advantageous cooperation and the implementation of new investment projects,” emphasized M. Chakyev.
