LARGE-SCALE PREPARATIONS FOR THE UPCOMING INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Currently, extensive activities are underway to prepare for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, scheduled to be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone from August 4 to 8, 2025. To ensure the successful organization of this international event at a high level, all branches of national entities are actively involved in the preparatory process.

As is known, the adoption of the Resolution entitled “Additional information on the modalities of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries” at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on April 11 of this year became another indication of the world community’s recognition of the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan and their great significance on the international stage. The resolution was adopted by consensus and co-sponsored by 57 Member States, demonstrating broad international support for Turkmenistan as the host country and underscoring the importance of addressing development challenges faced by landlocked developing countries.

Relevant directives have been issued emphasizing the importance and necessity of taking all required measures to hold this international forum, one of the major events of the year, at a high organizational level. Within the framework of the upcoming conference, various events of political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian nature are also planned.

Accordingly, to welcome conference participants in accordance with national traditions of hospitality and to facilitate the smooth conduct of the events at a high level, students fluent in foreign languages are actively involved. A working group comprising university teaching staff has been established, with specific tasks set to achieve high-level outcomes. Volunteers fluent in foreign languages have also been selected.

At this point, it is important to highlight that alongside discussions and thematic events, special emphasis will be placed on a friendship concert and a festival of national dishes. An international youth forum is also planned as part of the conference. Young media correspondents will work effectively to organize and widely disseminate information through the mass media. Currently, training sessions for volunteers and translators on language proficiency are being held, along with a training program on activities in accordance with protocol rules and a plan for international event coverage by young correspondents. During these sessions, young professionals receive necessary information from relevant specialists.
